The 8 Pro is basically OnePlus saying they’re tired of being the cheaper underdog. Now starting at $899, this phone throws away all of OnePlus’s old ideologies.
A 6.78” 1440p 120hz display graces the front, with a “downgrade” to a hole punch from the pop-up camera for IP68 water and dust resistance.
As typical of OnePlus, top notch specs. Snapdragon 865, 5G, 8/12GB RAM, 128/256GB UFS 3.0 storage. The battery is 4510mAh with Warp Charge 30T wired charging, and finally 30W Wireless Charging (full speed only with the $69 OnePlus charger).
The back is flaunted by a 48MP Main, 8MP Telephoto, 48MP Ultrawide and a “color filter” 5MP Lens.
OnePlus heading for the big boys isn’t necessarily a bad thing, we saw it coming anyway with the gradual price increases over the years. As a 5G phone it outprices the likes of the S20 5G, but does anybody gain anything with this feature yet? I’d take a 4G model which is $99 cheaper any day.
