Yesterday’s leaks were spot on, as Microsoft just confirmed the Xbox Series X pricing and availability. The Xbox Series X will launch at $499 (or $35 per month with Xbox All Access), on the same day as the Series S, the 10th of November. You can also pre-order both consoles from the 22nd of September.

Based on the spec sheet and performance claims by Microsoft, $499 for a 12TF GPU and 8 Zen 2 CPU cores seems like a sweet deal. The focus of this console will be high frame rate 4K gaming on the cheap, and I wouldn’t put my hopes on the 8K gaming claim. Regardless, gamers rejoice, as you now have more power for cheaper. The best thing about competition is that the consumer always wins.
The ball’s in Sony’s court now, and I hope they don’t drop the ball with PS5 pricing and availability.
